Course Summary
The General Pest Management Course is suitable for students seeking to pursue a career in pest management. The course equips students with the knowledge to manage pests both with and without pesticides, and to maintain equipment and pesticide storage areas in pest management vehicles. It incorporates modules CPPUPM3005, CPPUPM3006 and CPPUPM3018, and is accredited nationwide. Upon completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment and be eligible to apply for a timber pest management licence with the applicable authority within their state or territory.
Students are required to complete online assessments consisting of multiple-choice and written assessment tasks. The learning material is provided via e-learning booklets, which students can access whilst completing their assessments.
Additionally, students are also required to undertake a work placement component supervised by a licensed general pest management technician. The work placement involves completion of treatments at 20 premises, together with supporting photographic and video evidence for each job.Students are responsible for organising their own work placement supervision. This must be organised prior to enrolment in the course.

Is this course delivered 100% online?
No unfortunately. The performance criteria set for this course requires a supervised practical component. This means, along with the online assessments, you will be required to undertake a number of timber pests treatments with a licensed Pest Management Technician.
Should I complete both pest courses?
The course generally takes students 6 to 8 weeks to complete if you commit to 10 to 12 hours study per week. This should be divided between completing the online modules and the work placement component.
