Our online Completed Residential Building Inspector course is specific to Queensland, and is designed for licensed builders who would like to apply for a building inspectors license with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). The course is built around the framework for undertaking pre-purchase building inspections in Australia, specifically AS4349.1. The course provides the foundation skills for undertaking a pre-purchase building inspection and formulating the inspection findings into a professional report. You will develop the required knowledge regarding pre-engagement procedures, contractual terms and conditions, common inspection terminology, site inspection procedures and techniques, and how to best communicate the findings into a professional report.

While the licensing requirements differ across Australia, anyone undertaking pre-purchase residential building inspections associated with the sale of a property in Australia, must do so in accordance with Australian Standard AS4349.1. This is also a requirement of Professional Indemnity insurance companies. Therefore, if you are going to undertake pre-purchase inspections, then you must do so in accordance with the Standard, otherwise you may be not covered by your professional indemnity policy should a claim arise against you.
