Pest Inspection Course
Get licenced and start
inspecting!
Here are some quick facts about our general pest course.
Do you need advanced computer skills? Absolutely not! Our online learning platform is built for any user level and guides you through each of the units you need to complete.
Is this course 100% online? Almost! The pest courses are about 90% online and 10% practical. You are required to fill out a practical workbook as part of the course and accompany a Pest Management Technician to a number of pest jobs.
Should I complete both pest courses? We recommend students undertake both pest inspection courses so you have an understanding of both general pests, termites and how to inspect for them.
Course Overview
Please note that upon completion of the relevant pest units, students in all states are required to undertake practical experience with a licenced pest management technician.
Students will need to fill out a log book noting the tasks they complete with their supervisor, as outlined within the pest course.
Students need to organise their own practical experience by contacting their local pest management technician and accompanying them to jobs.

Getting your Pest
Management Licence
QLD is the only state in Australia that requires inspectors to hold a Pest Management Technician License before they can legally inspect on pests. If you are intending on carrying out inspections in QLD you will need to complete both this general pest management course, as well as the timber pest management course. After completion, submit your Statement of Attainment from both courses to QLD Health, who will issue your licence. Then, get your ‘Termite Management – Chemical’ licence added to your builders licence via the QBCC.
All other states do not require a licence to start inspecting on pests, and are not required to complete this general pest management course.
